Building sustainability into our whole business model
Quick info on sustainability

Recent studies have shown that the environmental impact of the fashion industry is substantial. For the last 50 years, everyone was encouraged to take part in the fast fashion business and because of that, we are now faced with an unprecedented problem - pollution and CO2 emissions. (Weforum,2020)
It seems like pollution isn’t a big deal when we think about it because we don’t feel the immediate consequences, however, it is happening and we are here to change that.
The UN research team has provided us with the following statistics regarding the amount of waste produced by the fashion industry:
-
The fashion industry produces 20 percent of global wastewater
-
Clothing and footwear production is responsible for 8% of global greenhouse gas emissions
-
Every second, the equivalent of one garbage truck of textiles is landfilled or burned. (U.N.,2019)
What does Slow fashion and sustainable clothing mean

Slow fashion refers to small-batch collections, designed to last for long periods of time while reducing textile waste. (DavedWachsman2.2013)

Sustainability refers to an environmentally friendly approach in which goods are produced based on the needs of the consumers without compromising our planet’s resources. (Grant, 2020)

Eco-friendly brands are preoccupied with a meaningful experience that translates into cultural diversity, clean efficient production, fair labor and fair retail prices. (UNECE,2018)
Our journey
Here at Alesandra Fashion, we decided to join a growing trend - sustainability in fashion- aimed to both satisfy our customer’s needs but also protect the environment so that future generations will have the same opportunities to dress up, create and embark on their unique journey.
We feel that we must provide our customers with more than beautiful outfits, and because of that, we are here to give you a valuable experience throughout your shopping process.
Staying fashionable doesn’t necessarily mean harming the environment.
and as the remarkable Emma Watson once said:
“As consumers, we have so much power to change the world by just being careful in what we buy.”
